SHANGRI-LA ULAANBAATAR PART1

The hotel car which picked me up at Chinggis Khaan International Airport got stuck in one of the worst traffic jams I've ever experienced on the way to the Shangri-La. I never imagined that a city in the middle of a vast steppes would have such a crazy amount of traffic on its streets. Anyway, I was finally able to check into a room with a view. In a city I am completely unfamiliar with, a hotel with a room and services that meet global five-star standards turns into the Shangri-La, literally.

チンギスハーン国際空港で出迎えてくれたホテルカーは、シャングリラへ向かう途中、これまで経験した中でも最悪クラスの渋滞に巻き込まれた。広大な大草原の真ん中にある都市の道路がここまで車で一杯になっているなんて想像もしていなかったのだが。とにかく、なんとか到着し、眺めの良い部屋にチェックインできた。右も左もわからない初めての街へ来たとき、グローバルな5スターのスタンダードに合った部屋とサービスがあるホテルは、文字通りシャングリラ（桃源郷）になる。
