Having lunch at the Sichuan Chinese Restaurant of the Ulaanbaatar Hotel, the first hotel ever built in Mongolia, completed in 1961. This socialist-style hotel on a premium city center location is known as the first public building in the country with running hot water, and it has housed some foreign embassies. At the restaurant, I of course ordered a lamb dish.
今日のランチは、ウランバートルホテルの中にある「四川」というチャイニーズレストランで。1961年にモンゴル初のホテルとして街のど真ん中にオープンした社会主義式のウランバートルホテルは、この国で初めて温水が出る公共施設だったらしい。かつては外国の大使館もいくつか入居していたとのこと。店では、もちろん羊を注文した。
