My
socialist architecture hunting continues from the iconic quad tower in Novo Sarajevo to the mountain ranges of brutalist apartments in the west of the city. At the foot of the mountains, I found a memorial for those who lost their lives in the Bosnian War. The design of the plaque resembles the shape of the apartments behind it and is touching. Part of this area is the former
Olympic Village, which was completely destroyed during the siege and later rebuilt as housing for families, and a notice board in the plaza has the shape of the 84 Olympic emblem.
