AN AERIAL TRAMWAY WITH A MEMORY OF 1984

Visiting Trebević, a mountain southeast of Sarajevo and a recreational area for the people of the Bosnian capital, on the aerial tramway called Sarajevo Cable Car. Trebević was the venue for bobsleigh and luge during the 1984 Winter Olympics, and an old gondola with the emblem of Sarajevo '84 is preserved at the lower station.

サラエヴォケーブルカーと呼ばれるロープウェーに乗って、サラエヴォの南東にあるトレベヴィチ山に登ってみる。ここはサラエヴォ市民のレクリエーショナルエリアになっている場所。1984年の冬季オリンピックの期間中はボブスレーとリュージュの会場だった。山麓駅にはサラエヴォオリンピックのエンブレムが描かれた古いゴンドラが保存されている。

"WELCOME TO THE OLYMPIC CITY OF SARAJEVO". When they were having the Games in this beautiful city in the mountains, I guess nobody could have imagined what they would have to face 8 years later. 

「オリンピックシティ、サラエヴォへようこそ」　試合が行われていたときは、8年後にどんな運命がこの美しい山間の街を襲うのか、誰も想像できなかったことだろう。
