LIKE THE SHOWA ERA

The Kagayaki train I'm taking today from Nagano to go back to Tokyo is bound for Ueno Station and won't arrive at Tokyo Station. It's very rare.

今日長野から東京へ帰るために乗るかがやきは上野行き。東京駅へは行かない。なかなか珍しい。

The service was actually terminated at Ueno Station. It felt like a train from the Showa era, when the terminal for all train services from the north was Ueno.

本当に上野が終着駅だった。北から来る列車がみんな上野止まりだった昭和の頃のよう。
