RIDING THE RED WING

I changed the trains at Itozaki station from the 113/111 series EMU to its successor, the 227 series EMU, nicknamed "Red Wing". "Wing" is the singular, so don't confuse it with a Russian airline.

糸崎という駅で113/111系から後継者の227系電車に乗り換える。この車両にはRed Wingというニックネームがついているが、こちらのWingは単数形で、複数形にするとロシアのエアラインになってしまうのでご注意を。

On the other side of the platform, I found JR West's tourist train "etSETOra", which uses the KiHa 47 series DMU and connects Onomichi and Hiroshima. It's a two-car set, and all seats require reservations.

プラットホームの反対側には、キハ47系気動車を使用したJR西日本の観光列車「etSETOra（エトセトラ）」がいた。尾道と広島を結ぶこの列車は2両編成で全席指定席。
