This is a hotel opened in one of the most unique locations in the world—inside the Nagoya TV Tower built in 1954. The tower, which is known as the oldest TV tower in Japan and is currently called The Chubu Electric MIRAI TOWER, was once pulled down by Godzilla in the 1964 film. The suite I checked into is housed in the attic-like space on the roof of the lower observation deck, and it has an oversized balcony overlooking Hisaya Odori Park, the central park of Nagoya City.
ここまでユニークな場所に作られたホテルは、世界を見渡してもなかなか見つからないだろう。その場所とは、1954年に建てられた名古屋テレビ塔の中。現在は中部電力MIRAI TOWERと呼ばれる名古屋テレビ塔は日本最古のテレビタワーで、1964年の映画の中でゴジラに倒されたこともある。今回の滞在では低層展望デッキの屋上部分にあたる屋根裏のようなフロアに置かれたスイートを選んだのだが、この部屋には名古屋のセントラルパーク、久屋大通公園を見渡すかなり大きなバルコニーがついている。
