MATSUMOTO JUJO: TWO CAFES

Go up the narrow street in front of Matsumoto Jujo, and you will find a book cafe, "Philosophy and Sweets," run by the hotel.

Another cafe, "Oyaki Cakes and Coffee," which plays a role as the hotel's reception, becomes a bar in the evenings. Having these remote facilities reflects the idea by Matsumoto Jujo to revitalize the whole Asama Onsen hot spring area by letting hotel guests stroll around the town. It's an excellent concept, adaptable to any local community that needs to be rediscovered.
