Then, dinner at the cozy Lakehouse restaurant next to the hotel's lakefront entrance. Mr. Nakawatase, Manager of Lakehouse, was formerly at Shunbou, a Japanese restaurant at Grand Hyatt Tokyo, my regular lunch place in pre-COVID time. I didn't know he had moved to RC Nikko, so a reunion with him was very much unexpected. I was happy knowing he now manages a restaurant at one of the best resorts in Japan.

そしてディナーを、ホテルの湖側エントランスの前にある居心地の良いレストラン「レークハウス」で。この店のマネージャーである中渡瀬さんは、コロナが始まるまでランチでよく使っていたグランドハイアット東京の日本料理店「旬房」にいた方。日光のリッツに移られたことを知らなかったので、思いがけない再会にびっくり。今は日本最高のリゾートの一つにあるレストランを任されているのを見て嬉しくなった。
