Next stop: a residence of Kunio Maekawa, a giant of modern Japanese architecture and an apprentice of
Le Corbusier. The original location of this house was Hanabusayama near Meguro Station where my late grandparents once lived. The mezzanine level above the living room looks like an elevated passageway, or an elevated stage, and reminds me of the weekend house in
Izu Kogen my grandfather designed.

祖父がデザインした
伊豆高原の別荘を思い出させる。
