WALKING IN KURASHIKI PART2

Kurashiki was a bit disappointing. Its historical quarter is disconnected from the rest of the city and feels like a theme park or a movie set. Many of businesses and facilities inside the quarter are overly touristy and don't look authentic. My overall impression was that I have landed at one of old school Japanese tourist destinations.
倉敷はちょっと残念な場所だった。いわゆる「美観地区」は街のほかのエリアから切り離されていて、テーマパークか映画のセットのように見える。地区の中にある店や施設の多くは過剰に観光客向けで、オーセンティックな感じがしない。オールドスクールな日本の観光地、というのが全体の印象。
