One of the highlights of my visit to Bethlehem was
the Walled Off Hotel— Banksy’s art project that is a fully-functioning hotel with “the worst view in the world”. I didn't stay at the hotel but had a cold beverage at the lounge filled with his provocative art pieces, and checked out their museum and gallery. I felt even a glass of iced latte I ordered, which tasted as good as those at cafes in Tokyo and the US, was part of ironic art pieces considering the history and current situation of Palestine.

「The Walled Off Hotel」。このプロジェクトは、「世界で最も眺めが悪い」ことを売りにしながら本当のホテルとしてちゃんと営業している。今回宿泊はしなかったが、挑発的なアートでいっぱいのラウンジで冷たいものを頼み、ホテルに併設されたミュージアムとギャラリーを見てみた。パレスチナの歴史や現状を考えると、東京やアメリカのカフェで飲むものと変わらない美味いアイスラテでさえ、皮肉なアート作品の一部のように思えた。
