Today is a train day. I take a short rail trip riding the Yangon Circular Line train. I start my journey at rustic Shan Road Station near
Belmond Governor's Residence I am staying at.
今日は「鉄」の日。ヤンゴン環状線の列車に乗って、短い旅に出る。スタート地点は、泊まっている
ベルモンドガバナーズレジデンスの近くにある、素朴なシャンロード駅。
Here it comes. It's the ex-JR (Japan Railways) KiHa 40 series diesel train.
The ex-KiHa 40 I saw at Yangon Central Station wore the JR East livery for Tohoku Regional Headquarters and this one has JR Central color. Its rollsign says out of service, but obviously it's not.
やってきた列車は、旧JRの気動車、キハ40。
ヤンゴン中央駅ではJR東日本の東北地域本社色の旧キハ40を見かけたが、こちらはJR東海バージョン。方向幕は「回送」になっている。でも、もちろん回送ではない。
The train car still has original equipments and signs used at JR. The fare indicator tells this particular car was operated on the Takayama Main Line and Taita Line.
車内にはJR時代の装備や表示が残ったまま。運賃表示器を見ると、この車両は高山本線と太多線で使われていたらしい。
