COLONIAL YANGON PART1

Strolling around downtown Yangon reminiscing the British Burma era. Back then, the rulers called this city Rangoon, and the name still remains as IATA's airport code RGN for Yangon International. Many of the colonial buildings are now in a bad state, but ones like Accountant General’s Office (top) and Central Post Office (bottom) still look absolutely beautiful. I wish new Myanmar government would take an action to preserve these jewels.
英国統治下のビルマの残り香を楽しみながら、ヤンゴンのダウンタウンを歩く。当時、支配者たちはこの街をラングーンと呼んだが、その名前はヤンゴン国際空港のIATAコードRGNに残されている。植民地時代の建築はその多くが老朽化してしまっているものの、会計主任オフィス（一番上）や中央郵便局（一番下）といった建築は今でも実に美しい。新しいミャンマー政府が、これらの貴重な建築をきっちり保存する方向で動いてくれるといいのだが。
