Today I take the Senseki-Tohoku Line to go to Ishinomaki. And this is my first time to ride the HB-E210 series train, a hybrid diesel train operated by JR East. The HB-E210 has both diesel engines and lithium-ion batteries, and was introduced for Senseki-Tohoku Line services that connect Tohoku Line and Senseki Line using a newly-built non-electrified connecting route.
今日は仙石東北ラインの列車で石巻へ。ディーゼルエンジンとリチウムイオン電池を搭載したJR東日本のハイブリッド気動車、HB-E210系に初めて乗る。この車両は、東北線と仙石線を非電化の新しい接続線でつないで運行する仙石東北ラインのために導入された。
Each car features transverse seats which are ideal for the scenic Senseki Line.
各車両にはクロスシートがついているので、景色の良い仙石線には理想的。
The train passed Shiogama Station on the Tohoku Line and it is now running on the non-electrified section. The rail track running parallel is the Senseki Line.
列車は東北線の塩釜駅を通過して非電化区間に進入する。並行して走っているのが仙石線の線路。
And this is the reason why transverse seating are better than longitudinal seating on regular Senseki Line trains.
そしてこれが、標準的な仙石線の電車に載っているロングシートよりクロスシートの方が良い理由。
