Checked into Radisson Iveria. In the 1990s, due to the war in Abkhazia, this soviet-built luxury hotel—which was called Hotel Iveria at that time—became a vertical refugee camp where thousands of people lived together. And in 2009 the hotel was reopened as Radisson that has 19 floors after a thorough refurbishment. Since the first time I saw
this picture, the image of the hotel has been haunting me and that made Iveria my first-choice hotel in Tbilisi. They gave me a spacious light-filled corner room that has a 3-sided floor-to-ceiling glass window on the 14th floor which overlooks the Kura River. I can't help but think about the people who were living on this floor 20 years ago.

この写真を見た時からこのホテルのイメージが強烈に頭に焼きついていたので、トビリシではやはりイベリアに泊まりたかった。用意してくれたのは、クラ川を見渡す14階の広々としたコーナールーム。3面が全面ガラスになっているのでとても明るい。20年前はこのフロアにどんな人たちが住んでいたのだろうとつい考えてしまう。
