A C-5 Galaxy is visiting LAX. Judging by her tail sign, she belongs to Travis Air Force Base, CA.
C-5ギャラクシーがLAXを訪問中。尾翼のサインから判断すると、カリフォルニアのトラビス空軍基地に所属する機体らしい。
When U.S. Air Force called a bid for a heavy jet transport design concept, the idea submitted by Lockheed won and it became C-5 Galaxy. Boeing's design with raised cockpit concept was not chosen, but later it was developed into this beautiful commercial jet plane, the Boeing 747. The 747 has proven a great concept can eventually change the game even it was started with a failure. Glad to see the queen of the sky is still active at LAX.
米空軍が大型ジェット輸送機の設計入札を行った際、ロッキードが提案したプランがC-5ギャラクシーとして採用された。ボーイングもコクピット部分だけを高くした案を提示したが選ばれず、後にそのデザインはこの美しい商用ジェット機、ボーイング747になった。優れたコンセプトは、たとえ最初に成功しなくても、結局すべての流れを変える。747はそれを証明してきた機体。空の女王がLAXでもまだ元気なのは嬉しい。
