The next stop on my aviation pilgrimage around Seattle area is Flying Heritage Collection located adjacent to the Boeing Everett plant. This treasure chest filled with warbirds is the private collection of Mr. Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft. And amazingly, most of these vintage airplanes are preserved in flyable condition. Nowhere else on earth can have a Messerschmitt Bf 109 taking off next to a factory-fresh Boeing 787-8. Everett is the ultimate dreamland for aviation geeks.
シアトル周辺での航空巡礼。次の目的地はボーイング・エバレット工場の隣にある「フライングヘリテージコレクション」。この「軍用機の宝箱」は、マイクロソフトの共同設立者であるポール・アレン氏のプライベートコレクションで、驚くべきことに集められたビンテージプレーンの多くがフライアブル、つまり飛行できる状態で保存されている。工場から出てきたばかりのボーイング787-8の隣でメッサーシュミットBf 109が離陸するのを見ることができるのは、地球上でここだけだろう。航空オタクにとって、エバレットは究極の夢の国。
From the Unites States: the North American P-51 Mustang. This plane always reminds me of the last scene of Saving Private Ryan.

From Great Britain: the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. Vc. Her heart is made by Rolls-Royce, just like the one for ANA's Boeing 787s.
英国から。スーパーマリン・スピットファイアMk. Vc。この機の心臓は、ANAのボーイング787と同じくロールスロイス製。
From Germany: the Messerschmitt Me163 Komet. It looks like a toy, but is the only rocket-powered fighter aircraft ever to have been operational. You can see its Japanese version

And from Japan: the Nakajima Army Type 1 Fighter "Hayabusa" or Allied name "Oscar". Nakajima Aircraft Company was the predecessor of Subaru, a popular brand here in the northwestern US.
そして日本から。連合軍には「オスカー」と呼ばれていた、中島の一式戦闘機「隼」。中島飛行機は、ここアメリカ北西部で人気があるブランド、スバルの前身。
