TRAIN-ING IN HOKURIKU: HOKURIKU RAILROAD ASANOGAWA LINE

Following a ride on a Fukui Railway Fukubu Line tram, a local train on JR West Hokuriku Main Line, and the limited express Shirasagi, I continue the train-ing in the Hokuriku region. Today, I enjoy the Asanogawa Line of Hokuriku Railroad, which connects Kanazawa and Uchinada—a city's northern suburb. The car I'm taking is the ex-Keio 3000 series that was used on the Inokashira Line. I have met this old guy in Gunma, too, but it wears a robust snowplow moldboard here.

北陸で電車ざんまい。福井鉄道福武線のトラム、JR西日本北陸本線の普通列車、特急しらさぎに続いて、今日は金沢とその北の近郊にある内灘を結ぶ北陸鉄道浅野川線に乗る。駅で待っていた電車は元京王井の頭線の3000系だった。この京王のOBは群馬にもいたが、ここでは頑丈なスノープラウ（除雪板）がついている。

Arrived at the Uchinada terminal, and I encountered the ex-Tokyo Metro (TRTA) 03 series EMU. These cars were the main workhorse for Hibiya Line when I started commuting to my company in Tsukiji in the early 90s. The stripe was changed from gray to orange—the corporate color of Hokuriku Railroad—and the cars once ran around Roppongi and Hiroo now have snowplow moldboards.

終着駅の内灘に着いたら、元東京メトロ（営団）の03系を見つけた。これは僕が90年代の初めに築地にある会社へ通勤を始めた頃、日比谷線の主力だった車両。グレーのストライプは北陸鉄道のコーポレートカラーであるオレンジに変更されていて、六本木や広尾を走っていた電車がスノープラウを履いている。
