GYSEV VENTUS

Going back to Wien Hauptbahnhof from Bratislava-Petržalka station. This route is called Austrian Eastern Railway and owned by the Austrian Federal Railways. However, the train I took was using the cool-looking Siemens Desiro EMU series 4744 "Ventus" owned by the Austro-Hungarian regional rail operator GySEV a.k.a. Raaberbahn. It was almost like traveling on a JR line in an Odakyu EMU. GySEV has a long history, and when they started operation in 1876, Austria and Hungary were one nation.
ブラチスラヴァ＝ペトルジャルカ駅からウィーン中央駅へ戻る。この路線はオーストリア東部鉄道と呼ばれているオーストリア連邦鉄道の路線だが、僕の乗る列車は、オーストリアとハンガリーの地域鉄道会社であるGySEV a.k.a. ラーバー鉄道が所有する、なかなか格好いいシーメンス・デジロ4744形電車「ヴェンタス」を使っている。つまり、小田急の電車でJRの線路を走るようなもの。GySEVの歴史は長く、1876年に運行を始めた時、オーストリアとハンガリーは一つの国家だった。
